Sculpture groupe 19Th

#51008

This gaggle of statues from the 19th century focuses on the boars and dogs, the traditional symbols of the hunt. All these antique statues are made from limestone and have lasted 200+ years, and will last many more. In a sort-of allegory of the hunt, the artists renders the boys as leading the hunt, assisted by their ferocious hunting canine companions. The boar is shown in solitary and then under attack, eluding to the historical attempts and dominion of Man over Nature.
