Porcelain Hand

Porcelain Hand

#94184

Porcelain glove molds were used for fitting gloves; being a size 6.5, it was one of the smaller glove hand molds to be used. Glove hand molds could be used to make any type of glove, but these were primarily used to make rubber or latex gloves in the 1950s (their heyday); this is a surviving artifact of industrial history. They were attached to some sort of rod and then "dipped" into a vat of rubber or latex, and then the dried shape would be turned into the industrial glove we know today.
