Grapevine Steamer

Grapevine Steamer

#97180

Popular in the 19th century, this tool was used as an early form of pest control. You would mix boiling water with a mixture in this container, then go around your vineyard keeping the bug population at bay. Sometimes hot embers themselves would be kept inside the container to keep the water hot. This is an antique wine farming tool of the French past. For any farming aficionado or as a decor item for a wine cellar, this wine keg illustrates the era-changing relationship between man and nature.
